WATCH: Andre Russell shatters Romario Shepherd’s stumps with a ripping yorker in the T10 final
In the final of the T10 Abu Dhabi League, Decan Gladiator secured its first-ever Abu Dhabi T10 title at Zayed Cricket Stadium on Saturday. Decan Gladiators thrashed Delhi Bulls by 56 runs with the help of all-rounder Andre Russell and opener Tom Kohler-Cadmore.
In the match, ‘Dre Russ’ bowled a sensational yorker to get rid of Romario Shepherd. It all happened on the last bowl of the 10th over went for a toe-crushing yorker, which destroyed the stumps of Shepherd.

In the match, the Bulls won the toss and elected to bowl first. Gladiators’ opener Russell and Tom gave a flying start to their team. With an astonishing 90 not out off 32, Russell smashed 7 maximums and 9 fours in his innings. Alongside batter Tom (59 not out off 28), the duo helped Gladiators post a big total of 159/0 runs in the stipulated 10 overs.
In the reply, Dwayne Bravo’s Bulls was bundled out at 103/7. All-rounder Odean Fabian Smith picked up two early wickets of opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Sherfane Rutherford in the second over. Thereafter, Chandrapaul Hemraj and Eoin Morgan steadied the ship of Bulls, but the duo was dismissed by Wanindu Hasaranga in the 6th over.
By the 7th over, Bulls was completely outplayed by the Gladiators, as their pacer Tymal Mills departed Dominic Drakes and Skipper Bravo on duck.
Russel was adjudged with the ‘Player of the Match’ award for his extraordinary performance.
“When you are accustomed to batting with five guys on the boundary, it makes you feel more relaxed when you have just two. I am happy to contribute to the game.” said Andre at the post-match presentation.
